Therapeutic Modalities

GESTALT THERAPY

gestalt  What do you see? Two faces or a goblet?

A person has many aspects of themselves, some conscious and others hidden. Techniques derived and developed from Gestalt Therapy assist in bringing the unconscious parts of ourselves into the light of awareness.  This integration of the unknown within ourselves strengthens our creative ability to act holistically and authentically in the world. Gestalt Therapy is helpful to  break the cycle of needing to keep on repeating old patterns that cause us pain.

NLP

Neuro Linguistic Psychology is a sophisticated model for creating change.

NLP assumes that  the unconscious mind is the repository for all our experience.  This is where both memories and emotions are stored.  If the memories and emotions are painful or traumatic, we will use the unconscious mind as our “attic”, storing unwanted content out of sight and out of mind.

NLP provides techniques to safely climb up to the attic, dust off old memories and emotions and assess what is valuable to return to the conscious level. Memories and emotions that are disturbing, traumatic, incomplete or unresolved can be completed and resolved without the need to re-live the original pain or trauma.

INNER FAMILY

Inner Family Therapy is an excellent model to clear, align and integrate aspects of consciousness that are adapted and formed from our family of origin. This can include challenges from our parents, siblings and grandparents as well as other epigenetic disfuntional patterns that go back to previous generations in our DNA lineage.

This is a quadrant based integration system based on four aspects.

Inner Child  (1) represents an actual felt personality that holds our essential spirit prior to conditioning. The Inner Child is an extension of the heart seeking attention from the Adult (2) the head. By attending to the needs of the Inner Child / Heart, an emotional and spiritual maturity arises.

The Higher Self (3) becomes available to elevate the awareness of what are are doing and wish to create in our lives.

The union and intra-psychic connection between the heart (1) head (2)  and Higher Self source (3) allows for a beneficial discussion with the fourth internal aspect, the Ego Protector (4).  A renegotiation then occurs to shift the intention of the Ego from defense and resistance to encouragement and forward movement. People who participate fully in this work experience an integration of self and development of positive internal vision and resources that last a lifetime.
